1teaspoonchili powderadjust to taste
1/2cupor 120 grams chickpea flour
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Instructions
Prepare the Mixture:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed green peas, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin powder, chili powder, chickpea flour, and a pinch of salt.
Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated. The mixture should hold together when pressed.
Shape the Patties:
Take a handful of the mixture and shape it into a small patty or fritter. Repeat until all the mixture is used. You should get about 10-12 fritters.
Heat the Oil:
In a frying pan, heat enough oil to cover the bottom of the pan over medium heat. Let it get hot but not smoking.
Fry the Fritters:
Carefully place the fritters in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry them in batches if necessary.
Cook each side until it turns golden brown and crispy, approximately 3-4 minutes per side.
Drain and Serve:
Once golden and crisp, use a slotted spoon to remove the fritters from the oil. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the Spicy Pea Fritters hot with your favorite sauce or chutney.
