Vegan KFC Fried “Chicken”

Ingredients
  

For the "Chicken":

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu pressed
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk soy or almond
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar to make vegan buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried sage

Instructions
 

  • Cut tofu into nugget-sized pieces. In a bowl, mix non-dairy milk and vinegar to make vegan buttermilk.
  • In another bowl, mix flour with all the spices.
  • Dip tofu pieces in buttermilk, then coat them in the flour mixture.
  • Fry the tofu in oil until crispy and golden. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauces for the full KFC experience!
